1. Who we are
Stash Your Yarn is a service operated by Julie Wood as a sole proprietorship (“we,” “us,” or “Stash”), based in Garden Grove, California, United States. Our business address is provided on our Contact page.
2. What we do (and don’t do)
Stash Your Yarn is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects individual sellers of yarn (“Sellers”) with individual buyers (“Buyers”). We provide the platform, the payment infrastructure, and the shipping labels. We do not own, inspect, or take physical possession of the yarn sold on the platform.
All sales are transactions between the Seller and the Buyer. We facilitate those transactions but are not a party to them.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into binding contracts in your jurisdiction to use Stash Your Yarn. Accounts registered by anyone under 18 will be closed.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us immediately at help@stashyouryarn.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
One person, one account. You may not register multiple accounts or share an account with another person.
5. What may be sold
Only the following items may be listed on Stash Your Yarn:
Yarn intended for hand-knitting, crochet, weaving, or similar fiber arts. New, unused, or lightly used yarn is welcome. Partial skeins are welcome when disclosed as such.
Listings must accurately describe:
Brand, colorway, dye lot when known, fiber content, weight class, yardage, skein weight, quantity, and condition (full, partial, caked, center pull, or loose).
6. What may not be sold
The following are prohibited on Stash Your Yarn:
Anything other than yarn (needles, hooks, notions, finished garments, patterns); yarn made from materials falsely represented as another fiber; counterfeit or replica yarn falsely presented as a branded product; yarn infested with pests or that has been in contact with insect infestation; any item whose sale is illegal in the Seller’s or Buyer’s jurisdiction.
We may remove any listing at our sole discretion and may suspend accounts that repeatedly violate these rules.
7. Fees and payment
Buyers pay the listed price plus shipping. Buyers pay no additional platform fees.
Sellers pay a platform commission of 8% of the sale price (excluding shipping) on each completed transaction. Payment processing fees may also apply. Fees are shown to Sellers in the app before a listing is published.
Payments are processed through Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”). By using Stash Your Yarn as a Seller, you also agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Payments to Sellers are held until the Buyer confirms receipt or the automatic release window elapses, as described in the app.
8. Shipping
Stash Your Yarn provides prepaid shipping labels for all transactions. Sellers may not sell yarn through the platform without using the label we generate. Sellers agree to ship promptly — typically within five business days of a sale — and to package items appropriately.
9. Returns and disputes
Our full return and refund policy is available at our Return Policy page and is incorporated into these terms by reference.
Buyers have three days from delivery to open a claim. We review claims fairly and impartially. Both Buyers and Sellers agree to cooperate with our review, provide requested documentation, and accept our resolution as final within the platform.
10. Prohibited behavior
You agree not to:
Use the platform for anything unlawful; harass, threaten, or defraud other users; use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the platform; attempt to circumvent platform fees by arranging transactions off-platform after connecting through us; misrepresent yarn or your identity; post content that is hateful, defamatory, or that infringes intellectual property rights.
11. Content you post
You retain ownership of the photographs and descriptions you post on Stash Your Yarn. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and reproduce that content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform.
12. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms or that we reasonably believe poses a risk to other users. Balances owed to Sellers at the time of termination will be paid out through Stripe in the normal course.
13. Disclaimers
Stash Your Yarn is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We are not responsible for the accuracy of listings, the quality of yarn sold, or the conduct of Sellers or Buyers. Disputes between users are between those users, subject to our claims process.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stash Your Yarn’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us (in fees) in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stash Your Yarn and Julie Wood, together with any employees, contractors, and agents, from any claim arising out of your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
17. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the “last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
